How To Lose Weight And Keep It Off
One of the problems I have found with the many
diets that I’ve been on is that as soon as they are finished the weight
starts to creep back on.
Then a couple of months later I’m back to where I started and find
myself starting another diet promising that this time it will be
different.
The reason for this is that most diets do nothing to educate you about
the long term changes that need to be made to diet and lifestyle to
make weight loss permanent. This applies to most diets and all pills
and other weight loss products. They may help you to lose weight but as
soon as you stop using them and get back into old habits the weight
starts coming back.
To make weight loss permanent long term changes need to be made.
Researchers at the National Weight Loss Registry conducted a survey of
5000 people who had lost weight and managed to keep it off and found
several things that they all had in common.
To lose weight most of those surveyed followed a low fat and low
calorie diet and exercised at least 3 times each week. They found that
85% of those who lost weight ate a breakfast of cereal and fruit each
day and regular weighing acted as a motivation for weight loss.
Once they had lost weight it was found that there were two key factors
in maintaining that weight loss. The first of these was consistency in
day to day eating habits with little variation in the number of
calories consumed each day. The second factor was the ability to
recognize when they were falling back into old habits and starting to
regain weight. Those who could deal with small weight gains early were
more likely to maintain their weight loss.
If you want to lose weight stop procrastinating, stop wasting time and
do it now. It will help you to be happy, boost your energy level and
get more sleep.
